A1 Assignment: Identity - Reflection

Week Four - Day Nineteen Finishing what I thought was the final product, I made and sent out a google form to the people in my classroom in order to gain peer feedback on my product as it stood. Here is my form: My first question was set out to find the positives of my title sequence and, from what I gained, the addition of the voice over was something people liked. This was a great achievement as it was based on the iconic VoiceOvers of "Hey Hey!" from Modern Family and "Doh!" from The Simpsons. Because they both added these voiceovers, their own individual reviews explained how audiences of their show enjoyed the VoiceOver in the title sequence and had positive feedback and engaged the audience - this is why I added my own VoiceOver for audience enjoyment and engagement. The way the title appeared seemed to be another positive of my title sequence. My title appearing from behind the bus was inspired by "The Simpsons" title appearing from beneath the clo...

A1 Assignment: Identity - Production & Post-production

Week Four - Day Sixteen To get started, I thought the best thing to do was to put some of my assets together to become one layer like how they would be viewed in the final animation. For example this town photo:   However, this did become a problem later on. Unaware that this would be a problem, After Effects was up and running and ready to go! Having not used After Effects for a while, it took a short amount of time to remember the different buttons and right click commands - I did have to search up quick tutorials, like the example of having to remind myself how to render using this short video: This was just to remind myself of basic skills, but it didn't take up too much time at all. Nearing the middle of the title sequence, I was slowly getting used to the Puppet Pin Tool. Rewatching my animation over and over as it progressed, I realised just how much difference the Puppet Pin Tool can make, adding so much more movement and character to my animation. The Puppet Pin Tool...

A1 Assignment: Identity - Pre-production & Planning

Week Three - Day Eight On day eight, I decided to put my whole title sequence into a storyboard. This would help fluidity and efficiency in the production process as it would be clear to me which scene comes next - my thoughts would be organised and orderly. The start of the title sequence, shown in panels 1-4, is Stephs morning routine. It starts off with an alarm sounding to commence the title sequence, followed by a fast paced montage accompanied by upbeat music and sound effects. The fast paced montage was inspired by the The Simpsons title sequence with the chaotic and busy scenes creating an uplifting atmosphere that viewers enjoyed. As the audience reviews on The Simpsons title sequence were mainly positive, I decided to incorporate my own fast paced montage as to appeal to my audience in the same way The Simpsons achieved.  The middle of the title sequence, as shown in panels 5-9, is the showing of the photos. Taken by Modern Family, as Steph passes each photo frame decorat...
